The not so literate me

I still remember the first time I get my hand on this machine called computer. I was in form five at that time and I was the Secretary for the School Prefect Board. At that time there is no such thing called thumb drive or CD or DVD. The only gadget we use to store all the information is the big size floppy disk (I forgot its actual name). And at that time, there is no such thing as mouse (Well I think there is already a mouse but our school’s computer lab is not quite well equipped I suppose). Reminiscing all the memories while I school make me feel old (creepy).

Boy at that time I don’t know anything about internet. I also can’t use the computer without having someone sitting beside me to keep on telling me what key to press. I remember when I was taking my Diploma, I am still naïve about this gadget called computer and how I type my assignment without knowing how to make the percentage of viewing to say 100% or 80%. Imagine typing an essay with 50% enlargement. Gosh am I naïve. Every time I come to the end of one page, I will immediately print the page and click to a new blank document, not knowing that you can type millions of page in one document (see I told you so that I am naïve at that time).

So how do I learn? Well luckily one of my syllabuses on my first semester is computer. From there I learn a lot of thing about this machine. And I also learn from my friends and books. I spent most of my time at the computer lab trying to get to know about this machine and make friend with it. Well you know practice make perfect. You just need to keep on training. I fell in love with this gadget that I want to know everything about it. I envy those who can do beautiful presentation and know how to use all the applications to make their presentation interesting. How I wish at that time we have Cisco certification to help me with my incompetence.

Well I didn’t end up being a computer wiz. But at least I am not so naïve about computer anymore. And I know a lot of people who have excel in their life and earn a lot for having the expertise in using computer.

People always say that if you want to be great one something, you have to learn, love and try it. To be perfect, you have to practice, practice and practice. As for now, I want to learn how to create a beautiful card especially wedding card and other special occasion card. Save me a lot you know for I don’t need to buy it anymore.
